On the night that the Jackalopes received their 2022 championship rings, their fans witnessed the highest-scoring game of the PBL season so far. Not only were 42 runs scored on 38 hits, but the hometown fans got to witness an 11-run ninth-inning rally by their Jackalopes, erasing a 20-11 deficit. This would tie the largest ninth-inning comeback in MLB history, which was achieved back in 1901. To cap it off, they got to see a three-run walk-off home run by first baseman Joe Johnson, giving Grand Junction a 22-20 victory. That wasn't the only history made in the game – Owlz left fielder Abdel Guadalupe hit for the cycle, driving in eight runs to boot. Jackalopes right fielder Ron Washington Jr. kept his bat hot, going 5-for-5 with two homers and seven RBIs. This goes down as a heartbreaking loss for the Owlz, while the Jackalopes earn their third straight victory after starting the year 4-9.
Mustangs Hold Off Late Rally & Snap Range Riders' Five-Game Winning Streak
Coming in on a five-game winning streak, the Range Riders were the hottest team in the PBL. Billings, however, was quite the opposite entering this contest on a nine-game losing streak after starting the season 3-3. Designated hitter Connor Denning continued his hot hitting to start this season, pushing his average close to .400 going 4-for-5, while Mitch Moralez homered and drove in four. The Range Riders scored a couple of runs late in the contest, but Nate Jenkins earned the save by stranding the tying run on third base. The 7-6 win is the Mustangs' first victory over Glacier this season.
Silva's Complete-Game Shutout Leads Chukars to Easy Victory Over Raptors
This game was all Chukars from start to finish, primarily because of the dominant performance by Daniel Silva on the hill. Silva collected all 27 outs for Idaho Falls by forcing weak contact and letting his defense shine. He was only two pitches away from a "Maddux", an outing where a pitcher tosses a complete-game shutout on fewer than 100 pitches, finishing with 101 pitches, allowing two hits, and collecting six strikeouts. With this 7-0 win, the Chukars evened the series with Ogden at two and moved to 7-9 on the year.
PaddleHeads' Offense Shines Again in Big Win Over Voyagers
On Star Wars Night, Missoula donned their green Star Wars jerseys, and they continued their hot hitting at the plate. Every hitter reached base multiple times and they totaled 19 hits. Jayson Newman-Dodd homered and drove in five, and Keaton Greenwalt collected three hits and drove in four, raising his league-leading RBI total to 27. The PaddleHeads' offense leads the PBL in runs, hits, runs batted in, and average while striking out the least of any team. Starter Kelvan Pilot grabbed a quality start and the bullpen had nothing to worry about with such a huge lead. With this 16-5 win, Missoula now has 11 victories, the most in the PBL.
Hawks Blow Out Vibes Behind Big Day at the Plate from Skelly
After losing the series in Grand Junction, the Hawks continued their Colorado road trip in Colorado Springs where pretty much everything went right for them in the series opener. Sean Skelly was the standout amongst the group, going three-for-five with a double, home run, and six runs batted in. Every starter for the Hawks reached base and with the 19-6 win, they move to 10-6 on the year. The Vibes will attempt to even the series in front of their home fans tonight at 6:35.
