Guadalupe’s Big Night Powers Owlz Past Jackalopes

In the fifth game of their series in Grand Junction, the Jackalopes jumped all over Northern Colorado's pitching staff early. Ethan Smith's three-run double capped off a six-run first inning, and Kokko Figueiredo homered to give Grand Junction a 7-0 lead after two innings. The Owlz chipped away though, scoring one in the third inning on an Abdel Guadalupe RBI single and adding three more in the fourth on singles by Payton Robertson and Kevin Higgins. After the Jackalopes extended their lead to 9-4, the Owlz responded by scoring three runs in each of the next three innings. Guadalupe hit a two-run homer in the sixth inning to cut the lead to 9-6, then put Northern Colorado in the lead with another two-run tater in the seventh. Northern Colorado capitalized on a couple of errors by the Jackalopes to grow the lead to 13-9, and after Grand Junction drew closer, Robertson added an insurance run on a sacrifice fly. The Jackalopes loaded the bases with one out in the ninth inning, but Cory Willis struck out Ethan Smith before getting Figueiredo to ground out to end the game.
Boise 9, Ogden 3: Hawks Use Long Ball to Down Raptors
The baseballs were flying in Boise on Tuesday night, as the Hawks smacked four homers in a convincing win over the Raptors. Anthony Walters got the scoring started with a solo shot in the bottom of the second inning, and Kole Kaler followed up three batters later with a two-run homer. In the sixth inning, the Hawks made the most of two Ogden errors before Sean Skelly capped off a five-run frame with a three-run homer. Ronnie Allen Jr. delivered the final tater in the home run barrage, hitting a solo shot in the bottom of the seventh inning. On the mound, Matt Voelker was solid for the Hawks, giving up just one run and six hits with two walks and three strikeouts in six innings. With the victory, Boise is in second place in the South Division, while Ogden falls to third place.
Billings 5, Great Falls 2: Mustangs' Pitchers Keep Voyagers at Bay
After a brutal losing streak, things are starting to look up for the Mustangs. Karan Patel held Great Falls to two runs and five hits over six innings, and Nate Jenkins, Hunter Schiperoort, and Tyler Statler combined to throw three scoreless innings to secure the victory. Trevor Johnson's three-run homer in the second inning and Luke Fennelly's two-run shot in the fourth were more than enough for the Mustangs to win for the third time in their last four games. Tyler Naumann tossed all eight innings for the Voyagers and was only charged with one earned run because of errors that proceeded both homers.
Rocky Mountain 17, Idaho Falls 7: Heart of Vibes' Lineup Leads Charge in Rout
Runs came in bunches for Rocky Mountain on Tuesday night, and the four, five, and six hitters were the ones to thank. Dusty Stroup, Jacob Barfield, and Edmond Americaan combined to go 9-for-17 with two homers and 10 RBIs. After falling behind 4-0 in the first inning, the Vibes scored one run in the second, six in the fourth, and eight in the sixth to put the game out of reach. Zach May went 4-for-5 with two homers and four RBIs for the Chukars, but the Rocky Mountain bullpen held them in check, tossing four shutout innings to lock down the victory. After losing six in a row, the Vibes have now won their last three games.
Missoula 10, Glacier 5: PaddleHeads Cruise to Sixth Straight Victory in Rain-Shortened Game
In a matchup of the teams with the two best records in the PBL, the Range Riders struck first thanks to an RBI groundout from Benjamin Fitzgerald and a run-scoring single by Mason Dinesen. However, the PaddleHeads fired back immediately, scoring three times in the bottom of the frame. The Range Riders took the lead back in the third thanks to homers from Crews Taylor and Matt Clayton, but the PaddleHeads again answered, scoring three more times. After a lightning delay, Missoula put the game to bed by adding four more runs in the bottom of the fourth. Jared Akins was a sparkplug at the plate, going 3-for-3 with a homer and a walk, and Patrick Chung collected two hits and two RBIs. A second weather delay in the bottom of the seventh inning caused the game to be called early. The PaddleHeads have now won six in a row and 11 of their last 13 games.
