The Hawks took the first win in a three-game series in Ogden, leading from the top of the first after a home run by Kole Kaler. Tyler Jorgensen, who hit for the cycle earlier in the week, and Ronnie Allen Jr. also homered for the visitors, who were supported by a nine-strikeout performance from Gavin Gorrell, earning him the win. For the Raptors, former PBL Draft pick Reese Alexiades hit two long balls while Cameron Phelts, Juan Teixeira, and Logan Williams each had three hits. The series continues on Sunday at 2 PM.
Idaho Falls 13, Missoula 11: Chukars Take First Game of the Week Against PaddleHeads
Missoula had a great series against the Chukars through Friday, outscoring Idaho Falls 50-15 and keeping Idaho Falls to only one run in the last two games. It was a different story on Saturday, as the Chukars rallied late in the game to overcome a three-run deficit and win by two in the end. Five Chukars players homered in the game, including Mark Herron Jr with a three-hit performance and Michael Kohn, whose grand slam put the Chukars ahead for good. Cameron Thompson homered for Missoula, and the six PaddleHeads pitchers that came on were able to strike out 11 Chukars batters. Brian Williams retired all six PaddleHeads he faced to record the save. The series in Missoula will conclude on Sunday at 2:05 PM, where kids 12 and under get in free.
Northern Colorado 10, Billings 9: Owlz Strike Late to Resume Winning Ways
A four-run comeback on the top of the ninth gave Northern Colorado its first win in their week-long series against Billings, the Owlz's first after a run of six straight losses. Henry George had two hits in the game, including a double in the top of the ninth that brought in three runners to put the visiting Owlz in the lead. Earlier in the game, the Mustangs had produced a six-run inning in the bottom sixth, powered by a Luke Fennelly home run, just before Gabe Wurtz also homered in the bottom seventh. Cory Wills worked around a lead-off walk in the bottom of the ninth to secure his third save of the year. Billings will host a doubleheader on Sunday, starting at 11:05 AM.
Grand Junction 13, Rocky Mountain 6: Jacks Register 16 Punchouts, 14 Hits to Even Series
A commanding performance by Grand Junction pitchers gave the Jacks a win to level the three-game series against the Vies. Starter Justin Kleinsorge had a day of little worries on the mound, fanning ten in six strong innings of work. Later, Emmanuel Rosario and Diego Jordan each had three strikeouts, resulting in 16 total for the Jackalopes. Matt Wong had four hits throughout the day, including a back-to-back home run right after Jaylen Hubbard went yard in the bottom eighth. For the Vibes, Dustin Stroup had his second game in a row with three hits and a home run. The series decider will be played on Sunday in Grand Junction at 2:05 PM.
Glacier 10, Great Falls 6: Range Riders take series over Great Falls, keep pursuit of Missoula
A fourth win in a row against Great Falls not only gave Glacier the series win, but also meant they gained ground in their pursuit of North Division leaders Missoula. The visiting Voyagers took control of the game early on, opening a 6-1 lead after home runs by Anthony Herron Jr. and Charley Hesse. Glacier began its comeback in the bottom fourth with a three-run homer by Nick Lucky. Gabe Howell and Kingston Liniak also homered for the home team, while starter Noah Barros got his third win of the season for the Range Riders, striking out six in as many innings. The series finale starts on Sunday at 1:05 PM from Glacier Bank Park.
