The Billings Mustangs mustered a three-run comeback after losing a four-run lead early in the third inning, capping it off with a 9-8 road win against the Rocky Mountain Vibes. The Mustangs led 4-0 after the first three innings, but the Vibes quickly came back with two triples to bring in five of the seven runs in the inning. After the Mustangs took back the lead in the seventh, Elvis Peralta drove in the tying run in the seventh. Finally, Tyler Wilber put the finishing touches on his three-hit, three RBI night with a solo shot in the top of the ninth, and Hunter Schilperoot completed the night with a three up, three down bottom of the frame.
Ogden 18, Idaho Falls 4: Raptors Explode for 22 Hits, Rout the Chukars
The Ogden Raptors took care of business on Wednesday night by crushing 22 hits in a beatdown of the visiting Idaho Falls Chukars. After the Chukars scored four in the first inning, the Raptors quickly responded with a ten-run second inning, complete with two home runs and seven hits. Four Raptors had a hat trick of hits, 12 of which went for extra bases and four going over the fence. Logan Williams recorded three hits and four runs batted in, leading the scoring for the Raptor offense, with Dakota Connors and Rafael Narea driving three across the plate. The Raptors continue to stay ahead of the rest in the South Division after winning four straight.
Great Falls 9, Missoula 5: Voyagers Halt Missoula with Comeback Home Victory
The Great Falls Voyagers stopped the Missoula PaddleHeads' win streak with a comeback 9-5 victory. The first six innings were a back-and-forth trading of blows between the teams, including Missoula's Austin Bernard and Great Falls' Derek Kolbush each going yard. After Patrick Chung tied the game at five in the sixth, the Voyagers strung together four runs in the bottom of the seventh, led by Jaylyn Williams and Billy Hancock with RBI singles. Former PBL Draft pick Shane Gustafson struck out eight in his start for the Voyagers, and Brady Held sat down four in two innings pitched. Great Falls stops their losing streak and looks to carry momentum in the series.
Grand Junction 18, Northern Colorado 11: Jackalopes Take Road Win Over Owlz in High-Scoring Affair
The Jackalopes and Owlz combined for 32 hits on Wednesday night as Grand Junction defeated Northern Colorado 18-11. The lead was never safe for either team, despite long stretches of unanswered runs for both teams. The Jackalopes got off to a 4-0 lead in the top of the third, but the Owlz quickly scored nine straight in three innings to take a five-run lead. After the Jackalopes shortened the lead to two, the lead went back up to four after the sixth, but that would be the last time the Owlz would cross the plate. Grand Junction tacked on 11 unanswered runs, eight of which came in the seventh inning. Kokko Figueiredo batted in a game-high five runs, and five other Jackalopes drove in multiple runs in the contest. The Owlz and Jackalopes are only half a game apart in the South Division standings less than halfway through the series.
Glacier 12, Boise 2: Nick Zegna Keeps Numbers Low as Range Riders Ground the Hawks
The Boise Hawks scored the least amount of runs on Wednesday night across the Pioneer League as the Glacier Range Riders defeated the home team 12-2. Starter Nick Zegna was a solid presence on the mound for seven innings, registering four strikeouts and only allowing five hits and two runs, one unearned. The bullpen struck out five of the last six on the way to the dominant victory. Glacier's Christian Kirtley drove in three runs, all of which came from his two home runs on the night. The baserunners also had a field day, stealing six bases throughout the night. The Range Riders sit solidly above the Mustangs at second in the North, five games back from the PaddleHeads.
