After posting their first loss since last Friday the PaddleHeads snapped right back into form on Friday against the Voyagers. Dawson Day was handed the ball for Missoula and dominated in his PaddleHeads debut, throwing seven shutout innings, striking out ten, while only allowing four hits. June North Division Batter of the Month Keaton Greenwalt was hot at the plate going 4-for-6 with two doubles, and Missoula collected 20 hits on the night. The Voyagers will look to bounce back and pick up another victory tonight at 7:00.
NoCo 13, Grand Junction 10: Owlz' Consistent Hitting Leads to a Victory Over Jackalopes
After winning the first game of the series on Thursday, the Owlz looked to grab another key victory against a division opponent. Baseballs were flying off bats right from the start for both clubs as going into the sixth the Jackalopes held a 6-5 lead over the Owlz. This lead held until Northern Colorado exploded in the final two frames with six runs that Grand Junction was unable to match. Tim Bouchard went 4-for-4 and Cory Wills finished things off in the bottom of the ninth to get the save. These two teams will battle it out for the sixth and final time on the week today at 6:35
Boise 6, Billings 2: Hawks Beat Mustangs Behind Widell's Complete Game
Ryley Widell established himself as a pitcher with devasting stuff earlier in the year when he completed an immaculate inning in one of his starts. However, in this game Widell used his defense to quickly take down Mustangs hitters one by one. Widell finished with a complete game with only three strikeouts and didn't allow his two earned runs until the eighth. Outside of Widell, the Hawks bats did what they needed behind him driving in six runs on eight hits. Because of the great start, the game only took two hours and four minutes, and Boise won their fourth out of five this week against Billings.
Ogden 13, Rocky Mountain 4: Power-Hitting Duo Leads Raptors to Fifth Straight
Outside of the makeup game played on Wednesday, the Raptors have not dropped a game against the Vibes this week, with this win making in five in a row. Although winning has become the expected for Ogden, in this one they were victorious due to unusual suspects. The duo of Rafael Narea and Dane Tofteland both hit two big flies and combined for eight of the 13 runs driven in. The pitchers weren't too shabby themselves for Ogden as Jake Mullholland went six innings, striking out ten and Chase Stratton collected the three-inning save.
Glacier 12, Idaho Falls 7: Range Riders Bats Stay Hot in Eighth Straight Win
On the second to last day of the first half the Range Riders looked dominant once against the Chukars. Although the PaddleHeads clinched the division on Wednesday, Glacier put up a good fight going 11-2 in June and this was their eighth straight win. Every Glacier starter collected at least one hit, led by Dean Miller, who went 4-for-4. Starter Jonanthan Clark went five innings only allowing one hit and the bullpen had enough of a cushion to easily close out the game. Glacier will look to keep the winning streak going into the break tonight at 7:05.
