Ogden 5, Boise 4: Narea Drives in Three, Lifts Raptors
A fantastic series between two strong South outfits ended all square with Ogden's win on Sunday. The Hawks jumped on Edward Baram early, with a Sam Olsson home run and another score coming across on a double play. The Raptors pulled within one in the third, with Raymond Gil responding with a solo homer to make it 4-2. It was all Ogden from then on, capitalizing on a wild pitch, a tying single from Narea, and a solo homer from him in the seventh to pull in front. Chase Stratton and the Ogden bullpen stabilized things for the hosts after the big Boise first inning, punching out 13 in total. Both sides expect to rebound to First Half form as they sit at the bottom of the South.
Idaho Falls 7, Northern Colorado 6: Chukars Bullpen Helps Avoid Sweep
Idaho Falls needed a win to avoid a rare six-game sweep in Windsor and got it done in close fashion. Mark Herron Jr. and Brandon Bohning each smacked solo shots early, but the Owlz responded in the third with a two-run bomb from Josh Glenn and Abdel Guadalupe adding a three-run homer for a 5-2 lead. In the very next frame, Herron drove in another with a grounder, and Tyler Wyatt and Stephen Cullen each found the center field grass to even affairs at five. Cullen got on the scoresheet again with a two-run homer in the sixth that ended up the game-winner. Victor Rodriguez and Brian Williams combined to toss a hitless final three innings to seal the effort. Northern Colorado is a game out of first in the South at 7-5, while Idaho Falls remains in the cellar at 3-9.
Rocky Mountain 18, Grand Junction 8: Huge Seventh Inning Helps Vibes to Series Victory
Rocky Mountain used a quality start from Christian Day and a complete outing from its lineup to jump out to a 5-0 lead, before putting 13 more past Grand Junction in a rout. Four walks and four home runs including a Stephen Wilmer grand slam pushed the game well out of reach in the seventh. The Jacks used three late homers to tack on eight runs, but it wasn't any more than a consolation. Joe Encarnacion knocked in four and Jacob Barfield added three for the Vibes, with Joe Johnson, Ron Washington Jr. and Drew Williams leaving the yard for the Jackalopes. The visitors take the six-game set and lead the South at 8-4, with Grand Junction hanging behind at 6-6.
Missoula 11, Glacier 5: Powerful PaddleHeads Cruise to Win
Missoula dominated the middle innings to clinch a tough series against Glacier. Gabe Howell hit a solo shot in the first to give the Range Riders the lead, but the visitors found their rhythm eventually, taking the lead in the fourth and never looking back. Keaton Greenwalt drove in two, McClain O'Connor homered, and star reliever Mark Timmins made his return to Missoula in the effort. For Glacier, Colin Gordon tripled with Gabe Howell and Kingston Liniak going yard in the effort. The PaddleHeads are a game back of Great Falls at 8-4, and Glacier sits at 5-7.
