Ninth-Inning Comeback Powers Range Riders Over Mustangs
With their backs against the wall, Glacier rose to the occasion in the top of the ninth, scoring four runs highlighted by a Crews Taylor two-run homer and another Clayton RBI single
Looking to avoid being swept by their division rivals, the Range Riders began the scoring in the first with a Matt Clayton RBI single. Billings came right back and took the lead in the second with a two-run homer from John Michael Faile. Glacier then went on top again after a three-run third highlighted by a two-run single from Dean Miller. Billings took over from there, with three runs in the seventh led by a Brendan Ryan two-run shot and then a Gage Wurtz RBI single in the eighth to take a 6-4 lead. Glacier took an 8-6 lead that remained. Though he didn't have any RBIs, Mason Dinesen led the Range Riders with three hits while scoring each time he got on base.
Grand Junction 22, Northern Colorado 10: Johnson, Jackalopes Drop 22 On Northern Colorado in Slugfest Win
The Jackalopes continued their offensive excellence Thursday night, scoring eight in the bottom of the first after the Owlz struck first, with Jaylen Hubbard, Jacob Cruce, and Joe Johnson all homering. The Owlz began to chip away with three in the top of the second off of a Jordan Rathbone RBI double and a Dave Matthews two-run homer. However, the Jackalopes struck right back with three of their own. The Jackalopes kept scoring and Northern Colorado couldn't keep up. Grand Junction put up another six runs in the sixth, highlighted by a Cruce RBI single and a Johnson two-run double. At this point, the score was 21-7 in favor of Grand Junction and while both teams scored more runs, the Jackalopes had no problem holding onto their lead. Joe Johnson shined in this one, going 3-5 with six RBI. Cruce, Hubbard, and Matt Wong each had three RBIs for Grand Junction. Henry George and Rathbone each had three RBIs for Northern Colorado. \
Ogden 9, Rocky Mountain 6: Ogden Staves Off Late Comeback to Take One Over Rocky Mountain
The Raptors were also trying to avoid being swept and started how they wanted to, scoring first in the second off of a Dakota Connors RBI double. They weren't happy for long as Jacob Barfield tied the game with a solo homer in the second. The Vibes then took the lead in the third off of a Dusty Stroup RBI double and a Jake McMurray RBI single. Then came the Raptors with three in the fourth led by a Damian Henderson two-run homer. The Raptors put up one in the fifth and sixth, then two in the seventh from a Nick Ultsch two-run single. The Vibes started scoring again but were only able to score one in each of the last three innings, which wasn't enough. Ultsch and Henderson led the Raptors with two RBI each, while Stroup and Barfield each had two for the Vibes. With Ogden holding onto a four-game lead over the Hawks, they move on to Grand Junction while the Vibes begin a series against Northern Colorado Friday night.
Missoula 16, Great Falls 8: PaddleHeads Offense Outpaces Voyagers Early to Secure the Sweep
Both teams battled hard in the early innings of Thursday night's contest, with Great Falls striking first with a Billy Hancock RBI single. Missoula took the lead back in the bottom of the second, but the Voyagers went and put up five in the top of the second. Xane Washington had a solo homer while Riley Jepson, Anthony Herron Jr., and Collin Runge each had RBI singles. Missoula chipped away and tied the game in the fourth with a McClain O'Connor RBI double. They took the lead in the fourth as well with a Jakob Guenther RBI groundout and Luis Navarro RBI single. It was all Missoula from there as they put up six in the fifth to pull away and eventually win 16-8. Guenther led the way for Missoula with two hits and four RBI while four of his teammates had two RBIs. Missoula's relief pitching was also impressive, only giving up two runs in seven innings with Austin Dill getting the win.
Idaho Falls 16, Boise 10: Idaho Falls Survives Late Surge to Take Series Lead Over Boise
With a lead in this series hanging in the balance, the Chukars struck first with three in the second, highlighted by a Bryce Brown RBI single. After the Chukars scored another in the third, the Hawks scored five in the fifth off of a Noah Marcelo RBI double, a Kenny Oyama RBI single, and a three-run homer from Raymond Gil. Over the next three innings, the Chulars would score 11 straight, starting with a Jordan Myrow three-run homer in the fifth. Tyler Wyatt smacked a grand slam in the sixth and Sam Troyer slashed a two-run double in the seventh. Down by 10, the Hawks put up a fight by putting up five in the ninth, but the Chukars got the win. Wyatt finished with five RBI while Brown ended up with four hits. Raymond Gil led the Hawks with three RBI. This series is the only one that will continue on Friday night.
