Raptors Outslug Vibes Behind Ultsch’s Big Night
Ultsch's six RBIs are a new career high, and it was his second four-hit night in the last five days.
The red-hot Vibes were first to strike on Tuesday night in Ogden, with Jacob Barfield and Stephen Wilmer both hitting two-run homers to help Rocky Mountain to a 6-3 lead by the fifth inning. In the bottom of the fifth though, the game turned sideways, with a two-out error by the Vibes opening the floodgates for a six-run inning for Ogden. Coleton Horner's two-run single gave Ogden a 7-6 lead, and Dakota Conners and Nick Ultsch both drove in runs with singles to extend the margin. The Raptors tacked on four more runs in the sixth, featuring RBI doubles by Damian Henderson and Rafael Narea, and a two-run single by Ultsch. The Vibes scored three times in the seventh inning, but Ultsch put the game to bed with a three-run homer in the bottom of the eighth inning. Ultsch's six RBIs are a new career high, and it was his second four-hit night in the last five days.
Glacier 7, Boise 3: Glacier Bullpen Stifles Hawks, Bats Score Seven Unanswered
In the second game of their series, the Hawks struck first with Kenny Oyama scoring on a wild pitch and a two-run double by Ronnie Allen Jr. The Glacier bats woke up in the second inning, evening the score on Benjamin Fiztgerald's RBI double and Jackson Raper's two-run single, and the Range Riders took the lead when Colin Gordon scored on a wild pitch in the third. Kingston Liniak padded the lead with a two-run double in the fourth, and Matt Clayton added some distance with a solo home run in the fifth. Meanwhile, the Glacier bullpen was magnificent after Michael YaSenka departed in the third inning. Jonathan Pintaro allowed just one hit and a walk in four shutout innings, Roy Robles tossed a scoreless eighth inning, and Justin Coleman struck out two in a clean ninth inning to secure the victory.
Idaho Falls 7, Great Falls 3: Chukars Rally Late to Down Voyagers
The Chukars struck first on Tuesday night, with C.J. Dunn blasting a two-run homer to open the scoring in the fourth inning. After the Voyagers scored a run in the top of the fifth, Mark Herron Jr. answered with an RBI single to put Idaho Falls back up by two. Tom Walker held Great Falls to just one run in six innings on the hill for the Chukars. In the seventh though, Great Falls tied the game at three with RBI singles from Jaylyn Williams and Anthony Herron Jr. The Chukars responded immediately, scoring three runs on RBI doubles by Stephen Cullen and Mark Herron Jr., and a single by Anthony Frechette. Jordan Myrow added an RBI double in the eighth, and Brian Williams locked down the win with a 1-2-3 ninth inning.
Missoula 12, Billings 6: Thompson Delivers Keynote as PaddleHeads Bounce Back Against Mustangs
The PaddleHeads took a drubbing at the hands of Billings on Sunday, and the Mustangs jumped out to another early lead on Tuesday. In the bottom of the fourth, Keaton Greenwalt singled, Josh Elvir and Dondrei Hubbard both worked walks, and Cameron Thompson brought them all in with a grand slam, giving Missoula a 4-2 lead. The PaddleHeads tacked on five more in the sixth inning, featuring an RBI double by Hubbard, a steal of home, and a Ryan Cash home run. Thompson drove in his fifth run of the night on a fielder's choice in the seventh inning before Patrick Chung brought home two with a double. On the mound, Alfredo Villa settled down, allowing just one earned run and four hits with seven strikeouts over six innings.
Northern Colorado 15, Grand Junction 4: Coutts Goes Deep Twice as Owlz Rout Jackalopes
Jackson Coutts got the Northern Colorado offense rolling early in Tuesday's contest, cranking a two-run homer in the bottom of the first inning. After the Jackalopes took the lead, Josh Glenn put the Owlz back in front with a two-run single in the fourth. Coutts hit his second two-run homer of the night later in the frame, and the Owlz piled on nine runs in the inning to give themselves an 11-3 lead. Danny Perez added some insurance with a three-run homer in the fifth inning. For Coutts, it was his third multi-homer game of the season, and he currently ranks second on the team in RBIs.
