Billings 10, Missoula 7: Billings' Hot Start and Strong Fifth Provides Boost in Win Over Missoula
Looking for the series win over the PBL's best team, the Mustangs got to an early start, beginning with a Connor Denning solo homer in the first. While the Paddleheads responded with a Keaton Greenwalt RBI single, the Mustangs continued to score. Two runs in the second led by an RBI single from Brendan Ryan and another two in the third off of a Luke Fennelly two-run single gave the Mustangs a 5-1 lead. The Mustangs' lead didn't last long as the Paddleheads put up five in the fourth off of a Thomas DeBonville RBI triple, a Ryan Cash RBI single, and a three-run homer from Dondrei Hubbard. The Mustangs responded right back with four runs in the fifth led by a Gabe Wurtz solo homer and a two-run single from Ryan. These runs were enough to score the win as Billings won the game and the series. Brendan Ryan led the Mustangs offense with three RBI while Wurtz and Fennelly each had two and Mitch Moralez had three hits. Hubbard's three-run homer led the Paddleheads while Greenwalt had three hits and two RBI. The Paddleheads will visit Great Falls while Billings will host Northern Colorado Friday night.
