The Mustangs completely dominated Great Falls until the sixth, when Billings had scored 14 unanswered runs, including a three-hit performance by center fielder Mikey Edie and three RBIs by Alejandro Figueredo. Karan Patel had a nice outing, going seven innings strong and allowing two runs with three strikeouts for the Mustangs. The Voyagers' bats woke up in the top of the sixth and reverberated throughout the ninth when Giovanni DiGiacomo brought a runner in with his third hit of the day, but by then the Mustangs were already way out of reach. Rocky Mountain 13, Grand Junction 5: Vibes Take First Game Against Jackalopes on Night of Broken PBL Records
Rocky Mountain has taken the first victory in a week-long battle for the title of the South Division in the second half, and now needs two more wins to qualify for the playoffs. The Vibes attacked early and opened a 5-0 lead in the top fourth after a home run by Ethan Lopez, just before Joe Johnson homered to cut the lead to two. Nico Zeglin would leave the game short after, with five innings pitched and three earned runs conceded, but getting nine strikeouts on the way. Rocky Mountain fired back with a homer by Mark Herron Jr., his second in six outings for the Vibes, as he and Jake McMurray achieved three hits on the night while Ron Washington Jr. had three hits for the Jacks. Joe Johnson had five total bases on the game, now totaling 251 for the season and breaking last year's PBL record of 250 by Jayson Newman-Dodd. The Vibes also had a record broken by one of their own, as Jackson Cunningham appeared in his 45th game of the season, breaking Noah McBride's record of 44, also from last season. Stakes will be high for the second game for the series on Tuesday at 6:35 PM from Grand Junction.
Idaho Falls 6, Glacier 5: Chukars Snap Range Riders' Winning Streak
The Chukars managed to get a hard-fought win on Monday in Glacier to start this three-game series, powered by Eduardo Acosta, who drove in two, and Michael Kohn, with three hits and an RBI. Kingston Liniak kept his home run streak, now at seven homers in five games, going strong, as Christian Kirtley and Crews Taylor also homered for Glacier. The game was tied at five from the bottom of the third until the top of the seventh when Trevor Halsema finally broke the deadlock with an RBI single to bring Acosta home and give the Chukars the lead that would ultimately convert into the win. Glacier will try to bounce back at home on Tuesday at 7:05 PM.
Missoula 12, Boise 1: PaddleHeads Blast Boise to Open Series
Missoula is entering playoff mode, as the PaddleHeads are turning it up on both sides to the ball in anticipation for the postseason. Dawson Day recorded his third win of the season after five innings of work, with one earned run and seven strikeouts. Dondrei Hubbard, Cameron Thompson and Keaton Greenwalt all homered for Missoula, with Greenwalt going deep twice and bringing five runners in throughout the day. Trevor Minder had an RBI single in one of his three hits of the game to put Boise on the scoreboard. The second game of the series is on Tuesday at 7:05 PM from Boise, where it's Four Dollar Tuesdays with a General Admission seat plus a hot dog all for $4.
