Theo Hardy signed by Rangers after the 2024 MLB Draft
Theo Hardy (Idaho Falls) became the 15th Pioneer League player to have their contract purchased this season after being picked up by the Rangers following the final rounds of the 2024 MLB Draft.
The Rangers purchased Hardy's contract a few days after the conclusion of this year's Draft, making the Berkeley, Cali. native the first player out of Idaho Falls to move on to affiliated ball this season. Hardy had a month-long stint with the Chukars, signing on June 21st and playing 21 games in Idaho Falls before having his contract purchased. He finished with at least one hit in every game that he played played, as he collected 30 hits in 84 at-bats for a .357 batting average. Hardy's .450 on-base percentage was aided by his 16 walks and he drove in a total of 18 runs. He collected his first professional home run with Idaho Falls as well, en route to his 42 total bases and .500 slugging percentage. Prior to joining the Chukars, Hardy spent all four of his years of collegiate eligibility playing for San Jose State, where he slashed .292/.401/.451, and also played three summers at the collegiate summer level across different leagues.
