First Pioneer League Tryout Camp in Florida on February 20-22

The Pioneer Baseball League (PBL), an MLB Partner League, will host three tryout camps throughout 2026, offering an opportunity for pro-level players to earn roster spots with one of the league's 12 clubs.

The PBL's first camp of 2026 will take place February 20-22, 2026, at Northeast Regional Park in Davenport, Florida. The camp will offer players a professional-style evaluation environment led by Pioneer League personnel and attended by representatives from all 12 PBL teams.

"This tryout camp underscores the Pioneer League's commitment to developing young players and offering them a chance to hopefully graduate to MLB organizations," said PBL President Mike Shapiro.  "Our clubs are required to draft at least one player and offer them an invite to spring training, so players at this camp can expect a real chance to sign a pro contract."

Immediately following the camp, the PBL will hold a draft with each PBL club required to offer at least one tryout camp player an invitation to attend their 2026 spring training.

The PBL has a proven track record of player advancement. Since 2002, 96 Pioneer League players have earned contracts with Major League Baseball clubs, underscoring the league's role as a legitimate pathway for players pursuing opportunities in the top levels of professional baseball.
