WHAT:
-
The Pioneer Baseball League, a Professional Partner League of Major League Baseball, is holding a tryout camp this year for baseball players looking to continue pursuing their dream of playing professional baseball. Prospects at the camp will be scouted by representatives from each of the 10 PBL clubs and a draft will follow at the conclusion of the tryout camp. Each PBL club will sign at least one player from the camp to join their 2023 roster or attend their 2024 Spring Training.
- The PBL Tryout Camp is a pro-style two-day camp focusing on the detailed evaluation of player talent through intensive skills sessions, intra-squad competition, and data analytics powered by the TrackMan and BaseballCloud platforms.
WHO:
-
You! Players must be at least 18 years old to attend. Players with college eligibility remaining should check with their school before registering. Players should also check the PBL eligibility requirements below (see: Additional Information and Frequently Asked Questions).
WHERE:
-
The PBL Tryout Camp is from Friday, July 28th to Saturday, July 29th at the Future Legends Complex in Windsor, Colorado.
- The Groome Airport Shuttle at Denver International Airport is available for transportation. The shuttle runs from DIA to Northern Colorado Regional Airport, which is about 10 minutes from the complex.
WHEN:
-
The camp will run from 8 am to 3 pm each day. Players are responsible for bringing their own equipment (bats, gloves, batting helmets, catcher’s gear) but the PBL will supply a camp tee-shirt. Future Legends is a turf field, so no metal cleats, chewing gum, or tobacco are allowed on the premises.
WHY:
-
10 players will be drafted at the end of the PBL Tryout Camp and offered a contract to attend a Pioneer League Baseball team’s spring training.
-
The Pioneer Baseball League had the most MLB acquisitions of any independent league in 2022, so this will be a great step toward moving up the ladder toward your pro ball dreams.
-
TrackMan and BaseballCloud analytics will be collected during the tryouts and provided to all players in attendance.
-
As a Major League Baseball Professional Partner League with service time restrictions to assure the focus on players with limited pro experience, the Pioneer Baseball League is the principal development league feeding young players into higher levels of pro ball.
