Pitcher of the Week: Zach Voelker, Long Beach Coast
Voelker matched that impact on the mound for Long Beach, delivering a perfect week in high-leverage relief. Across four appearances, he threw 4.0 scoreless innings, allowed no hits, struck out nine, and recorded three saves. In a week full of close games for the Coast, Voelker gave Long Beach a reliable finishing option every time he took the ball.
His first appearance came June 3, when Long Beach was protecting a 12-11 lead against the RedPocket Mobiles. Voelker worked around one walk and struck out all three outs in the ninth inning to secure the save. He followed with another clean ninth on June 4, striking out one in a 5-4 win, then delivered another hitless save on June 5 with three more strikeouts in a 6-3 victory.
Voelker closed his week on June 7 with one more dominant inning, striking out two in a perfect ninth to finish Long Beach's 6-2 win. Over his four appearances, he faced 14 batters, allowed no hits, gave up no runs, and struck out nine, showing command, swing-and-miss stuff, and the ability to handle pressure at the finish line.
