Chasing Baseball: On the Road Again with the RedPocket Mobiles
Episode 5: The Beat Is On
After winning just one of their first ten one-run games, the RedPocket Mobiles finally find their offense — and their rhythm.
Episode 5 follows the team through the lowest stretch of a 96-game season played entirely on the road, including a dramatic game that ended on an overturned automated strike-zone challenge.
Then everything changes. Player-coach Jordan Harrison Dudley launches a towering 506-foot home run that helps ignite a breakout offensive surge featuring 24 runs and 29 hits over a two-game stretch, while Justin Johnson homers in six consecutive games on his way to Pioneer Baseball League Hitter of the Week honors.
The episode also introduces two of the personalities shaping the Mobiles clubhouse: Dudley, a 27-year-old schoolteacher unexpectedly thrust into the role of hitting coach, and infielder Gianni Horvat, whose homemade music has quickly become the soundtrack of the season.
The Beat Is On captures the turning point of the Mobiles' season and the people who keep showing up to the next ballpark, the next city, and the next opportunity.
About the Series

From late-night bus rides and roadside diners to visitor clubhouses across the Pioneer Baseball League, the series captures the grind, humor, brotherhood, and long-shot pursuit of a baseball dream.
