Pitcher of the Week: Jack Martin, Long Beach Coast

Martin received Pitcher of the Week honors following a commanding start against the Modesto Roadsters.

Martin provided a different kind of dominance for Long Beach, controlling the Modesto lineup over seven strong innings in an 11-3 victory on June 10. He allowed one earned run on six hits, issued no walks, and struck out five while improving his record to 2-0 and lowering his season ERA to 2.35.

Modesto scored its lone run against Martin in the third inning, but he kept the Roadsters scoreless across his other six frames. He faced 26 batters and threw 60 of his 93 pitches for strikes, consistently attacking the zone and working deep enough into the game to preserve the Long Beach bullpen.
