Jenks began his professional career in the Pioneer League in 2000 as a pitcher for the Butte Copper Kings after being drafted by the Anaheim Angels. Over two decades later, he returned to the league in a leadership role, serving as pitching coach for the Grand Junction Rockies in 2021 and then as field manager in 2022.
In his first season as manager, Jenks led Grand Junction to a 62–33 record and its first Pioneer League Championship. For his efforts, he was named the 2022 Pioneer League Manager of the Year. His dedication to player development, professionalism, and competitive excellence reflected the core values of the League.
