The Glacier Range Riders, in partnership with Logan Health, continue to make a lasting impact off the field through their Hero of the Home Series—a community-focused initiative that honors young hospital patients by giving them a VIP experience at Glacier Bank Park.
Now in its fourth year, the program selects one patient each home series to be recognized as a "Hero," offering them front-row access, a ceremonial first pitch, on-field recognition, and personal interactions with players and staff. It's a celebration of courage and resilience, turning a night at the ballpark into a meaningful memory.
The most recent honoree was 16-year-old McCall Murer, who was diagnosed with a rare bone marrow disease at age 13. His story of perseverance was front and center in Kalispell as he threw out the first pitch and was welcomed with admiration by the Range Riders.
Team staff and players alike embrace the opportunity to connect with these young heroes, many of whom remind them of personal stories and loved ones. The program reflects the club's deeper commitment to community, compassion, and the power of baseball to uplift.
