The Pioneer Baseball League is celebrating another major milestone as former Glacier Range Riders pitcher, Jonathan Pintaro, has officially been called up to the New York Mets, where he is expected to provide much-needed support to the team’s bullpen.
The Pioneer Baseball League proudly celebrates the promotion of Jonathan Pintaro, former Glacier Range Riders pitcher, to the New York Mets. Pintaro's ascent to the Major Leagues is a testament to his talent, perseverance, and the developmental value of the Pioneer League.
Pintaro made his professional debut with the Range Riders in 2022, where he quickly stood out as one of the league's top arms. His success in Kalispell laid the groundwork for his transition into affiliated baseball and eventual rise through the Mets' system.
This season, he has posted a 3.40 ERA, 1.11 WHIP, and 57 strikeouts over 11 starts at Double-A Binghamton. Though recently promoted to Triple-A, Pintaro was called up to the Mets before appearing at that level and is expected to contribute out of the bullpen.
His journey from the Pioneer League to the Major Leagues underscores the opportunities available within independent baseball. The PBL congratulates Jonathan Pintaro on this well-deserved achievement and looks forward to his continued success at the game's highest level.
