PBL Players of the Week - Week 12
Each week, the Pioneer League will recognize one hitter and one pitcher whose performance led their teams. The Players of the Week awards highlight the top contributors across the league during the 2025 season.
Week 12: August 4 - August 10, 2025
Pitcher of the Week: Ryan Wentz, (RHP) Missoula PaddleHeads
Ryan Wentz delivered a dominant performance this week, going the distance for his second complete game of the season - earning him RedPocket Mobile Pitcher of the Week. Over nine innings, he allowed just one run on five hits while striking out 11 without issuing a single walk, earning the win and showing elite command on the mound. Wentz currently sits second in the league in strikeouts (94) and holds the sixth spot in wins (7).
Hitter of the Week: Taylor Darden, (IF), Boise Hawks
Taylor Darden was an offensive force this week, earning Hitter of the Week honors with a dominant performance at the plate. He posted a scorching .538 batting average, driving in 13 runs while racking up 14 hits, including three doubles, one triple, and three home runs. So far this season, Darden has been keeping it consistent at the plate, ranking second in batting average (.447) and third in RBIs (107), and shows no signs of slowing down as the team pushes toward the end of the season.
