Pioneer Baseball League Players of the Week: Week 3
Lawrence, Voelker Named Pioneer Baseball League Players of the Week Sponsored by RedPocket Mobile
The Pioneer Baseball League has named Ogden Raptors outfielder Colson Lawrence and Long Beach Coast right-hander Zach Voelker its Players of the Week sponsored by RedPocket Mobile after both delivered standout performances during the latest week of the 2026 season. Lawrence earned Hitter of the Week honors after powering Ogden through a dominant offensive series against the Idaho Falls Chukars, while Voelker was named Pitcher of the Week after a flawless stretch at the back end of the Long Beach bullpen.
Lawrence put together one of the loudest offensive weeks of the season, hitting .607 with a 1.179 slugging percentage across six games. He collected 17 hits, seven doubles, three home runs, 15 RBI, 13 runs scored, and one stolen base while helping Ogden's lineup produce at an elite level throughout the week.
His week opened with a massive performance on June 2, when he went 4-for-6 with two doubles, a home run, three RBI, four runs scored, and a stolen base in Ogden's 22-16 win over Idaho Falls. Lawrence followed with three hits, a double, an RBI, two runs scored, and a walk on June 3, then added a home run, two RBI, three runs scored, and another walk in a 14-10 victory on June 4.
The production continued through the weekend. On June 5, Lawrence went 4-for-5 with two doubles, a home run, five RBI, and two runs scored in a 15-5 Ogden win. He added three more hits, a double, two RBI, two runs scored, and two walks on June 6 before closing the week with another double and two RBI on June 7. Lawrence recorded at least one hit and one RBI in all six games, giving the Raptors consistent middle-of-the-order production from start to finish.
Voelker matched that impact on the mound for Long Beach, delivering a perfect week in high-leverage relief. Across four appearances, he threw 4.0 scoreless innings, allowed no hits, struck out nine, and recorded three saves. In a week full of close games for the Coast, Voelker gave Long Beach a reliable finishing option every time he took the ball.
His first appearance came June 3, when Long Beach was protecting a 12-11 lead against the RedPocket Mobiles. Voelker worked around one walk and struck out all three outs in the ninth inning to secure the save. He followed with another clean ninth on June 4, striking out one in a 5-4 win, then delivered another hitless save on June 5 with three more strikeouts in a 6-3 victory.
Voelker closed his week on June 7 with one more dominant inning, striking out two in a perfect ninth to finish Long Beach's 6-2 win. Over his four appearances, he faced 14 batters, allowed no hits, gave up no runs, and struck out nine, showing command, swing-and-miss stuff, and the ability to handle pressure at the finish line.
Together, Lawrence and Voelker represented two different kinds of dominance in the Pioneer Baseball League: one carrying an offense with relentless production and extra-base power, the other shutting games down with precision and force. Their performances stood out across the league and earned them RedPocket Mobile Player of the Week honors.
