This Week in the PBL (June 1- June 7)
The 2026 Pioneer Baseball League season is officially underway. After the first week of action (June 1–7), here's a look at how all 12 clubs stack up based on their performances out of the gate.
Billings Mustangs (14-3)
Billings won five of six games during the week. The Mustangs swept Great Falls, including a knockout-round victory after a 3-3 tie on June 3, before taking two of three games from Boise.
The biggest offensive performance came on June 5 when Billings defeated the Hawks 17-8. Demias Jimerson homered twice and drove in seven runs. Billings closed the week with a 12-2 victory behind two home runs from Cameron Bowen.
Billings will host the Glacier Range Riders for a six-game series next.
Boise Hawks (11-7)
Boise split its six games during the week. The Hawks won a road series against Missoula before dropping a series against Billings.
After losing the opener in Missoula, Boise responded with consecutive victories. Tyler Best drove in four runs during a 12-5 win on June 3, and Brandon Nigh drove in four runs during a 6-3 victory on June 4. The Hawks later defeated Billings 12-6 on June 6 but were held to two runs in the series finale.
Boise returns home to host the Idaho Falls Chukars for six games.
Glacier Range Riders (12-6)
The Range Riders swept Oakland, including a June 4 game that ended in 10-10, before Glacier won the knockout round. Donovan Ratfield drove in five runs during a 13-1 victory on June 3. Glacier then dropped three consecutive games to Missoula.
Glacier travels to Billings for a six-game series against the Mustangs next.
Great Falls Voyagers (6-12)
Great Falls went 2-4 during the week. The Voyagers lost three games against Billings before taking two of three against Oakland.
On June 5, Great Falls defeated Oakland after trailing by eight runs. Great Falls also won the series finale 18-16 on June 7, collecting 18 hits. Tommy Specht recorded four hits and four RBI in the victory.
Great Falls travels to Ogden for a six-game series against the Raptors next.
Idaho Falls Chukars (1-16)
This week, Idaho Falls lost six games to Ogden.
The Chukars scored 16 runs on June 2 but lost 22-16. Ty Dooley homered and drove in six runs in the game. Sam Canton hit two home runs and recorded four hits on June 4, while Justin Trimble homered in consecutive games on June 4 and June 7.
Idaho Falls scored 69 runs during the six-game series and allowed 92 runs.
This week, Idaho Falls travels to Boise for a six-game series.
Long Beach Coast (15-3)
Long Beach completed a six-game sweep of RedPocket and extended its winning streak to 12 games.
The Coast overcame an eight-run deficit to win 12-11 on June 3 and followed with a 5-4 victory on June 4 behind Thomas McCaffery's three-run home run. On June 6, Long Beach had an 8-7 walk-off win with Eddy Pelc driving in four runs.
Long Beach returns home to host the Modesto Roadsters for a six-game series.
Missoula PaddleHeads (11-7)
The PaddleHeads hosted the Boise Hawks for three games this past week, then traveled to Glacier to take on the Range Riders for three additional games over the weekend.
Missoula won the first matchup against Boise 8-6, then dropped the next two games of the series. Reece Fields earned the win on the mound throwing 5.1 innings of no run ball allowing no hits, while striking out seven batters. The Missoula PaddleHeads finished the week by sweeping the Range Riders in their three game series.
Missoula will go back home this week to host the Oakland Ballers for a six game series.
Modesto Roadsters (11-7)
The Roadsters spent the week at home hosting the Yuba-Sutter Freebirds for six games, entering the week at 8-4, they split the series going three and three.
In their win Wednesday, Corbin Talley pitched 6.1 innings allowing only one run on five hits and striking out eight Freebirds. Omar Serrano pitched on Sunday going six innings allowing one earned run on three hits, striking out six hitters.
This week, they will play their six games of the week in Southern California at the Long Beach Coast.
Oakland Ballers (7-11)
Oakland opened at the Glacier Range Riders, getting swept in their three-game series. To finish the week, the Ballers played another three games against the Great Falls Voyagers. Only securing one win this week.
On Thursday, Tremayne Cobb hit leadoff for the Ballers delivering three hits and three RBIs including a double and notching a stolen base. In their win Saturday, Aidan Risse threw 5.2 innings allowing two earned runs.
Oakland will continue their road trip this week, traveling to Missoula for a six-game series against the PaddleHeads.
Ogden Raptors (10-8)
On the road for six games, the Raptors were in Idaho Falls for six games against the Chukars, sweeping them.
After scoring 46 runs in the first three games of the series, the Raptors went on to score an additional 46 across the last three. Giuseppe Ferraro-Nahr went 4-4 hitting a home run and driving in five runs on Monday.
The Ogden Raptors will host the Great Falls Voyagers for all six games this week.
RedPocket Mobiles (1-17)
The Mobiles spent last week visiting the Long Beach Coast for six games, getting swept.
Kishon Frett has been a star for the Mobiles so far, hitting a double and driving in two runs on Wednesday. Later in the week on Saturday, he went 3-3 with a double and a home run with 3 RBIs.
The RedPocket Mobiles will travel up to Yuba-Sutter to take on the Freebirds for all of their six games this week.
Yuba-Sutter Freebirds (8-10)
The Freebirds spent last week in Modesto taking on the Roadsters, winning the two of the first three games, all of which low scoring affairs. Ending the series Sunday in a split.
Riley Egloff took the mound for the Freebirds to open the series on Tuesday, throwing 5.1 solid innings striking out six of the Modesto hitters. Zach Chamizo went 3-5 with a home run in the knockout round win Saturday.
Yuba-Sutter hosts the RedPocket Mobiles this week.
