Pioneer Baseball League Players of the Week: Week 6
Ott, Longshore Named Pioneer Baseball League Players of the Week Sponsored by RedPocket Mobile
The Pioneer Baseball League has named Great Falls Voyagers first baseman Ethan Ott and Glacier Range Riders right-hander Zach Longshore its Players of the Week sponsored by RedPocket Mobile. Ott earned Hitter of the Week honors after delivering a dominant six-game offensive stretch, while Longshore received Pitcher of the Week honors following six scoreless innings against the RedPocket Mobiles.
Ott batted .542 with a .645 on-base percentage and a 1.125 slugging percentage, going 13-for-24 with three doubles, one triple, three home runs, 15 RBI, 10 runs scored, and seven walks. He recorded at least one hit in all six games and finished the week with 27 total bases and a 1.770 OPS.
His week began with a 3-for-3 performance that included a triple, a walk, one RBI, and three runs scored against Idaho Falls on June 23. Ott followed with his biggest power display the next night, hitting three home runs and driving in five while reaching base in all five of his plate appearances. He added two hits, a double, and two RBI in Great Falls' 16-15 comeback win on June 25 before contributing a hit, an RBI, and two walks in a 15-11 victory over Ogden.
Ott delivered another five-RBI performance on June 27, going 3-for-5 with two doubles and two runs scored. He closed the week with another hit, RBI, walk, and two runs on June 28, completing a six-game stretch defined by consistent production, power, and an ability to reach base.
Longshore was equally effective on the mound, throwing six scoreless innings in Glacier's 2-1 victory over the RedPocket Mobiles on June 24. He allowed six hits, issued no walks, and struck out seven while improving his record to 4-1.
The right-hander faced 23 batters and threw 57 of his 84 pitches for strikes, consistently attacking the zone and preventing the Mobiles from converting their baserunners into runs. Although Glacier did not score until the eighth inning, Longshore kept the game scoreless throughout his outing and gave the Range Riders the opportunity to earn a walk-off victory in the ninth.
Ott's relentless offensive production and Longshore's controlled, scoreless start represented two of the league's strongest performances of the week. Their efforts earned them recognition as the Pioneer Baseball League Players of the Week sponsored by RedPocket Mobile.
